Urban Angles: Comparison & Decision Guides
The five choices clients actually get stuck on, and how to resolve each.
Dusk shoot or Virtual Dusk?
A Dusk Add-on is a real capture at twilight — the property's own lighting, actual sky, genuine ambience. It needs a second visit and the right conditions on the night.
Virtual Dusk converts a delivered daytime image in post-production, priced per image, with no second visit and no weather risk.
Choose the dusk shoot for prestige listings and architectural work where the lighting design is part of the story. Choose Virtual Dusk where you want the dusk look on one hero image, on a tight timeline, or where a revisit isn't practical.
Proofing, or let the photographer select?
With proofing, you choose the frames and attach retouching notes. It adds a step, and proofs arrive by 10am the next day.
Without proofing, the photographer selects their preferred shots and finals come straight back.
Take proofing on any package of 10 or more images, on prestige listings, and where a vendor is closely involved. Skip it on volume listings where speed matters more than curation.
Which Base tier?
- Base 2 — external only. Land listings and blocks
- Base 5 — smaller properties, apartments, compact campaigns
- Base 10 — the standard residential campaign
- Base 15 — larger homes with more distinct spaces to cover
Add extra images rather than moving up a tier if you need a specific number.
Which video package?
| Need | Package |
|---|---|
| Something for the feed on every listing | Social Property Trailer |
| The full listing piece plus social cuts | Showcase Video |
| A prestige listing that needs a narrative | Prestige Video |
| A brand campaign with talent and scripting | Custom Property Video |
Virtual styling or physical styling?
Virtual Styling is per image, needs no access and no furniture, and can be applied after delivery — but only appears in the photography.
Physical styling changes what a buyer walks into at an open home.
Use virtual styling for a vacant or dated property where the campaign needs to look right and full styling isn't in the budget. Use physical styling where open-home foot traffic is the main channel.
Render or photograph?
A sixth choice that comes up on anything unbuilt. Photography needs the thing to exist. Rendering builds it from documentation — so it's the only option pre-construction, and the cheaper one where a single design has many facade or finish variants. Once a display home or completed building exists, photography takes over.
